Sign up for an all day field trip that is a unique collaboration of the Museum of Wisconsin Art in West Bend and Riveredge Nature Center. This year’s focus is artists’ response to nature and the use of natural materials in art making. The day begins with the viewing of Truman Lowe’s installation at the MWA. Truman Lowe is renowned for his elegant sculptures that draw upon his inspiration from nature and from his Native American roots. Students will also be led by docents throughout the museum’s collections to view other artist’s response to the land. In addition, they willl make make an art journal to bring to Riveredge for the afternoon.
After lunch, at the nature center, students will divided in small groups to explore our woods and prairies and to create their own art on the land. These activities will be guided by a RNC naturalist and artists stationed on our land.
