Nature Tots is an environmental education program for preschool age children. The children will experience nature through age appropriate, hands on activities. This program is a great opportunity for children with an adult companion (whether it be a parent, grandparent, aunt/uncle, etc.) to share discoveries together in an outdoor setting.

"If facts are the seeds that later produce knowledge and wisdom, then the emotions and the impressions of the senses are the fertile soil in which the seeds must grow. The years of early childhood are the time to prepare the soil."

Birdathon Bandathon
May 11, Saturday- 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 (all or part of the day)

Join us for this annual birding and banding event at Riveredge Nature Center.  To participate all you will need is a pair of binoculars and comfortable walking shoes.  You can bird watch on your own or join one of the informal groups that will be birding throughout the property.  Their goal is to find the highest number of species as possible.  Banders simultaneously will be trying to catch and band as many species and individuals as they can.  They’ll have mist nets set up along major trails near the Visitor Center.  Stop to watch them process birds or get directions to other birding and banding activities.

Donation requested (this is the Riveredge Bird Club's only fundraising event for 2013.)
