Canceled | Birding Field Trip to Pike Lake Area

We won’t be gathering on April 7 to hear Gene Jacobs’ presentation on Red-shouldered Hawks or on May 5 to hear Bill Volkert entertain us with his “Trip of 1,000 Lifers.” Fields trips during April or May to Pike Lake and Lion’s Den will not take place.

We hope to continue with at least one important annual fund raising event: The Riveredge Birdathon – scheduled for May 9. Unless the situation and local and state edicts mandate otherwise, we will rely on individual birders to maintain social distancing and conduct the count as scheduled, although the bandathon gathering at 6:00 AM has been cancelled. Getting outside to go birding, especially as the weather warms, will continue to be an antidote for “Corona Cabin Fever.” And we will rely on all of you to continue to generously support the birdathon and we will share pledge and donation details in the weeks ahead.
