SUMMARY:Discussion on Impacts of Land Conservation Funding in Wisconsin
DESCRIPTION:November 5 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm\n \n Discussion on Impacts of Land Conservation Funding in Wisconsin \n \n Charlie Carlin from Gathering Waters and Tom Stolp from Restoring Lands (formerly Ozaukee Washington Land Trust) will join Director John Rakowski in a discussion on land conservation funding efforts in Wisconsin with a focus on the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program. The program has recently been the focus of public discussion\, as its funding is currently set to expire in 2026\, though lawmakers could still opt to reauthorize it. Since 1989\, Knowles-Nelson funds have helped support thousands of public projects throughout the state including land purchases\, trail building\, boat launches\, and playgrounds. It also has been an important tool for Riveredge’s growth and conservation efforts. Gathering Waters will share more information on Knowles-Nelson’s history\, its statewide impact\, and the current status of funding. Restoring Lands will share more information on local impacts and their work. The speakers will focus on facts\, increasing understanding\, and keeping the public informed. There will be an opportunity for the audience to ask questions and learn how to get involved in local land conservation programs. \nAll ages are welcome! Children must be accompanied by an adult 18+.\nThis program is free to attend\, but donations are greatly appreciated!\nPre-registration is not required\, but highly recommended as space is limited and this program may fill quickly. \nRegister Here \n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n \n \n\n \n \n \n Registration\n All ages welcome! | FreeDonations appreciated \n Register Here\n \n\n \n \n \n Become a Member\n Take advantage of member benefits and discounts! \n Join Now\n \n\n \n \n \n More Events\n Explore other upcoming events! \n Event Calendar

SUMMARY:OWBC Field Trip: Owl Prowl at the Cedarburg Bog - FREE
DESCRIPTION:November 14 @ 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm\n \n Ozaukee Washington Bird Coalition Field Trip \n Owl Prowl \n at the Cedarburg Bog \n \n Join the Cedarburg Bog Owl Prowl team as we search for owls. We will be looking for Barred\, Great-Horned\, Northern Saw-whet\, and Eastern Screech-Owls for sure and maybe a rare species such as Long-eared Owl. There are no guarantees as owls can be fickle; however\, we have never struck out when weather conditions are right! Dress warm and bring binoculars\, water\, and a small flashlight. We will mostly be owling along Blue Goose and St. Augustine Road with short forays into the woods and/or the Bog itself. We will be standing in place for extended periods so dress warm with good walking shoes or boots. You may want to eat a snack or early dinner before arrival. If there are strong winds\, heavy precipitation\, and/or severe temperatures\, this outing may be postponed. We will let you know in the afternoon by email if there is a postponement.
