On the longest day of the year\, friends Squirrel\, Raccoon\, Bear\, Sparrow\, Rabbit\, Woodpecker\, and Deer gather to share the gifts of new light and life that summer brings. \n\n\n\nAbout Kelsey Gross \n\n\n\nI started writing poems and stories in first grade and dreamed of becoming an author. Many years and career paths later\, I’m delighted to return to my original plan! \n\n\n\nPicture books are powerful. The combination of illustrations and words create emotional experiences that help kids dream big\, connect with their caregivers\, wrestle with difficult questions\, and learn to care for one another and our world. I’m honored to be part of these vitally important moments in children’s lives. One of my favorite things is talking with young readers. They continually inspire me to stay curious\, laugh often\, and see the world in new ways.

SUMMARY:Bluegrass & Old Time Campfire Jam
DESCRIPTION:August 7 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm\n \n Bluegrass & Old Time Campfire Jam \n \n Gather around the campfire for a time honored tradition- playing and enjoying music in the company of others in the great outdoors. Bring your preferred acoustic instrument (guitar\, fiddle\, mandolin\, banjo\, dobro\, drum\, harmonica\, dulcimer\, vocals\, dancing feet\, etc.) and join the jam – or just come to listen! Local music historian and guitarist\, Luke Cerny\, will lead the jam session. Jam tunes don’t need to be in the Old Time or Bluegrass genres but should at least be simple/standard enough for most beginner/intermediate folks to “catch” on a pass or two. The jam will be held in a traditional circle with instrumentalists and song leaders/vocalists in the middle and folks just trying to learn or play rhythm on the outside. This program will be outdoors\, with an indoor option if weather necessitates. \nAll ages welcome. Children under 18 should be accomanpied by an adult 18+. \nThis program is free to attend\, but donations are greatly appreciated! \nPre-registration required by August 6 at 4:00 pm. \nRegister Here \n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n \n \n\n \n \n \n Registration\n Ages 14+ | FreeDonations appreciated \n Register Here\n \n\n \n \n \n Become a Member\n Take advantage of member benefits and discounts! \n Join Now\n \n\n \n \n \n More Events\n Explore other upcoming events! \n Event Calendar

SUMMARY:Milwaukee River Kayak Tour in West Bend
DESCRIPTION:August 9 @ 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm\n \n Milwaukee River Kayak Tour in West Bend \n \n Enjoy a 4 mile paddle down the Milwaukee River in West Bend! This paddle begins with views of downtown West Bend as you navigate the fun\, meandering river and ends with calm flatwater as you paddle through peaceful parks. Recommended for beginners with some experience or those with a sense of adventure. We’ll provide kayaks\, paddles\, life jackets\, and instruction. Don’t forget your sunscreen\, hat\, water\, and enthusiasm. We will use single person kayaks. \nWater levels on the Milwaukee River can be very unpredictable.
