We facilitate outdoor\, environmental-education based experiences for families to enjoy together. \n\n\nThe land of Lime Kiln Park was once part of a limestone quarry operated by the Milwaukee Falls Lime Company\, which was incorporated in 1890 and which in later years was owned by the Tews Lime and Cement Company of Milwaukee. This 28-acre community park includes 1 year-round facility\, 1 open-air shelter\, restroom facilities\, 9-hole Frisbee golf course\, sand volleyball courts\, fishing\, canoe ramp and an archery range. \n\n\nPark and meet at Lime Kiln Park in Grafton (address below). \nAll ages are welcome! DESCRIPTION:February 12 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm\n              \n                  Ozaukee Washington Bird Coalition: The Cedarburg Bog – Formation\, Hydrology\, Ecology\, and Uniqueness \n              \n              PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO THE INCLEMENT WEATHER\, THIS PROGRAM WILL BE VIRTUAL ONLY (not in person) \nPresented by Jim Reinartz\, president of the Friends of the Cedarburg Bog and former UWM Field Station director. Glaciation of the Cedarburg Bog and UWM Field Station area created pronounced topographic relief in the Bog’s basin and adjacent uplands comparable to that in the Kettle Moraine. The large size and slope of the wetland that developed in the low-lying basin results in a complex pattern of water movement responsible for a mosaic of nearly every major wetland plant community found in Wisconsin. Take in the beauty and serenity of a crisp winter evening on a self-guided 1.5 mile illuminated trail – a great adventure for both grownups and children. Traverse our trails on skis\, snowshoes (6+ inches of snow)\, or your own two feet. A warm fire will be awaiting you when you return. \nTheme: Valentine’s Night. Share the love of nature with those you love! Supplies will be provided to create Valentine’s cards indoors. The craft supplies will be available in the Visitor Center and Coop. The Wine Bar and campfire will be located at the Coop and will be featured on the Trail Map that you will receive when you check in at the Front Desk. Wine will be available for purchase for adults 21+. Hot chocolate (free) and Riveredge Apple Cider (available for purchase) will be available for everyone! DESCRIPTION:February 20 @ 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm\n              \n                  Family Nature Club \n                  in Port Washington \n              \n              Family Nature Club is a free offering to our community designed for kids\, teens\, and their families. We facilitate outdoor\, environmental-education based experiences for families to enjoy together. \n\n\nSauk Creek Nature Preserve is 27 acres. The creek runs north and south over limestone bedrock ledges and eventually flows into Lake Michigan near the Port Washington Marina. The land is a valuable wildlife corridor and an outstanding resource for community education and recreation. \n\n\nPark and meet at Sauk Creek Nature Preserve in Port Washington (address below). \nAll ages are welcome!
