Bird Banding Demonstration in Glendale

Join MAS in partnership with Riveredge for a special morning of fall migration bird banding, led by a federally permitted Master Bird Bander. Experience fall migration up close as wild birds are safely captured, banded, studied and released. See migratory birds in hand and learn what bird banding reveals about their journeys, populations and the habitats they depend on along the way. Stop by anytime between 7 and 11 a.m. In the case of unfavorable weather conditions, a rain date has been set for Friday, October 9.

Meet at the Indian Prairie Tribute Planting in Glendale (see below for nearest address). The prairie is located along Milwaukee River Parkway, about 1 mile south of the Kletzsch Park Dam, between Sunny Point Road and West Civic Drive. Look for the #82 Fire Station on West Civic Drive.

All ages welcome. Children should be accompanied by an adult.
