Saturday Work and Learn:
Backyard Woody Invasive Species Removal
Spend the morning volunteering and learning with the Riveredge Conservation Department. We will learn while we work, to identify woody invasive species like buckthorn, autumn olive, and japanese bush honeysuckle. We will also learn why these species are detrimental to our native landscape and how we can safely and effectively remove them.
Please come prepared to work outdoors: bring warm boots, warm layers and leather gloves. Riveredge will provide loppers, hand saws and safety glasses. The work portion of this program will be physically rigorous.
