Become a Water Quality Monitor
Join Milwaukee Riverkeeper and Riveredge staff to learn how to assess the water quality of a nearby stream or river. You’ll find out how to identify aquatic invertebrates and do five water quality tests. Monitors are asked to conduct tests monthly during the summer and submit their data to the statewide Water Action Volunteers website.
Ages 18+
This program is free to attend, but donations are greatly appreciated!

Vernal Pond Sensory Exploration
Come join a Riveredge naturalist as we use all of our senses to explore one of the most fascinating springtime worlds – the vernal pond. We’ll gently catch and release the creatures we find and learn about their amazing lives.

Exploring Our Watery Worlds
Water is all around us and a connecting force for everything that we do at Riveredge! Come visit us on World Water Day as we splash into learning about our wonderful watery places. Various hands-on engaging stations will be set up throughout Riveredge from Vernal Pond to the Milwaukee River to explore each of our unique water bodies! Not able to join us in the evening? Stop by the visitor center during open hours to pick up a Riveredge’s Waters map for a self-guided hike around Riveredge.

This program is FREE for all!

Milwaukee Riverkeeper Spring River Cleanup
Milwaukee Riverkeeper is hosting their Annual Spring Cleanup!
Milwaukee Riverkeeper provides the gloves, trash bags, and amazing FREE T-SHIRTS. YOU provide the people power to pick up the interesting and sometimes bizarre trash that finds its way into our beautiful river system. Together, we can help restore our waterways.
WHERE: More than 80 locations across the Milwaukee River Basin!
SAFETY: We’re doing our best to make our rivers healthy, so it’s important for us to also care for the health of our communities at the same time. Be sure to wear gloves and sunscreen! Wash your hands and don’t forget to bring a water bottle, cleaning up is hard work!

CRP Lecture Series: Stream Restoration with Trout Unlimited
Come join local Trout Unlimited volunteer, Myk Hranicka, as he shares what the Local Troup Unlimited Chapter has been doing recently and in the past 20+ years to restore local trout streams. He will also discuss how dam removal can supercharge efforts to clean our waterways and cool our rivers down.
