Ozaukee Washington Bird Coalition Meeting: Understanding Bird Populations and How They Change

Bill Mueller, emeritus director of the Lake Michigan Bird Observatory, observes: “In less than a single human lifetime, 2.9 billion breeding adult birds have been lost from the U.S. and Canada, across every ecosystem, and including some of the most abundant and familiar species. While some species are increasing and many others remain stable, we are most concerned about the 40% that are declining.” His presentation will describe how we have learned this.
