Canceled | SAWW Chainsaw Training: Level 2

Join SAWW (Safety and Woods Worker) trainer Luke Saunders (Forester with Adaptive Restoration LLC) for a hands-on training in chainsaw use, maintenance, and technique. Spend time both outside and in the classroom, practicing how to operate chainsaws safely, comfortably, and productively.  

This class is part two of a four level series through the Safety and Woods Working training program (SAWW). 

Topics include:

• basic chainsaw maintenance
• review of the cutter tooth and hands-on sharpening
• introduction to wedges
• planning and executing tree felling
• planning and executing limbing and bucking.

Level 2 participants will sharpen their own saws, may fell trees against lean, and learn advanced bucking techniques. Hands-on training gives participants the opportunity to fell or buck at least one tree. You are encouraged to bring your own equipment and lunch; helmets are mandatory.

Pre-registration required. Space is limited.

Cancellation Policy: Registrant will be refunded 75% of registration fee if cancellation occurs up to 7 days (1 week) before the event.  Any cancellations within 7 days of the event will not be refunded unless the event is cancelled by Riveredge staff.

Please note: Riveredge has recently upgraded our registration system. The good news? Registering for programs should now be much quicker and much easier! You will easily be able to register multiple family members at once, save your contact info for easy reuse, and quickly browse available programs. The bad news? Because this is a new system, we can not transfer over your old account. Unfortunately, that means you will need to create a new account on the new system and re-enter your information.
