Trails Aglow: Valentine’s Night
NOTE: Due to the snow, we’ll be wrapping up Trails Aglow early, running from 4:30pm – 7:00pm!
Enjoy your Friday night by luminary light! Take in the beauty and serenity of a crisp winter evening on a self-guided 1.5 mile illuminated trail – a great adventure for both grownups and children. Traverse our trails on skis, snowshoes (6+ inches of snow), or your own two feet. A warm fire will be awaiting you when you return.
Theme: Valentine’s Night. Share the love of nature with those you love! Supplies will be provided to create Valentine’s cards indoors. The craft supplies will be available in the Visitor Center and Coop. The Wine Bar and campfire will be located at the Coop and will be featured on the Trail Map that you will receive when you check in at the Front Desk. Wine will be available for purchase for adults 21+. Hot chocolate (free) and Riveredge Apple Cider (available for purchase) will be available for everyone! If you would like to take a beverage with you along the trail, please bring a thermos, tumbler, or other container that you can take to-go!
Snowshoe rental is available ($10/hour for non-members and FREE for Members). Event may be altered/canceled due to weather conditions.
All ages welcome | Children must be accompanied by an adult

Winter Solstice Celebration
Adventure and Exploration Day at Riveredge
Celebrate the Winter Solstice at Riveredge! Awaken your curiosity, engage your body, and explore the beautifully restored Riveredge landscape through self-guided and educator-led activities. Winter Solstice Celebration: Adventure and Exploration Day at Riveredge is designed for folks of all ages to get active outdoors and discover a variety of ways to enjoy nature. Adventure awaits!
– Guided Hikes 11am, 1pm, 3pm | 1 hour long
– Crafting in the Coop 2-6pm | Bring a recycled, clean glass jar to make a luminary! Extra will be available. We will also be making bird feeders and coloring mindfulness mandalas.
– Bonfire 4:30-8pm | S’mores and healthy snacks will be provided
– Winter Solstice Yoga 5-6pm | Register separately here – $15 for non-members, $10 for members
– Night Hikes 5-6pm, 6:15-7pm | Please do not use a flashlight or headlamp. Instead, we will let our eyes adjust to the darkness.

Handmade for the Holidays:
A Giftmaking Gathering
Join us for a day filled with holiday cheer and festive gift making! Children of all ages are invited to craft seasonal creations inspired by nature. Each child can make and take home multiple projects. Ages 2-12. Participants must be accompanied by one adult.

Craft Night! Join us for an evening of creativity and artistic expression at Craft Night! Before or after the hike, adults and children of all ages are invited to embrace their artistic side as we provide several crafting stations to explore. If you’ve got a craft you’re working on, bring it with while you relax, socialize, and create with others! Bring your ideas, enthusiasm, and a willingness to try something new.
Craft stations include:
– Love letters to nature
– A community art project
– “Over and Under the Ice” wall hanging, courtesy of Riveredge’s Community River Program (CRP)

Holiday Wreath Making
at Wellspring
Here’s a chance to make a winter wreath for the holidays with Riveredge Nature Center at the Wellspring Campus!
Made from a variety of fresh greens – spruce, pine, cedar, juniper. You will take home a 24” diameter wreath for yourself or as a holiday gift. Ribbon, evergreen cones, and additional decorations will be available to personalize your wreath.

Share your love for nature, creativity, and each other at Riveredge this February! Adults are invited to cozy up and settle into a lovely afternoon of craft-making with a mug of hot cocoa, a glass of wine, and light refreshments. Let love inspire you!
Crafting Stations will include:
- Macrame Plant Holders
- Sea Glass Mosaics
- Wood-working
- Wire-Wrapped Jewelry
- … and more!
Join us for this great day of creativity, community, and leave with some nature inspired, handmade gifts from the heart. What to Expect: Program sign up is limited, so we can really capture the cozy feel and so folks have plenty of time to spend at each station. Participants will have 3 hours to rotate through all crafts. You may choose to focus on a few or visit all the wonderful stations. Light refreshments are included with registration. Cheese and crackers, popcorn, beer and wine, tea and hot cocoa will be served for your enjoyment. Volunteers will be at each station to help you through each craft and guide your creative intuition as you work.
Riveredge All-Access Members: $35/person, Riveredge Trail Pass Members: $45/person, Non-Members: $50/person
