Hook-ology: Knot The Best
The best place to start is understanding line and knots. Work with experienced anglers to become familiar with essential knots and when to use them. We will start with large rope, work our way towards fishing lines of various types and discuss their application.
Ages 8+ | For kids and adults!

Family Nature Club
Fishing Fun at Ridge Run!
Spend the afternoon on the banks of Wells Lake in Ridge Run Park with a pole in your hand and hopefully a few bites on your line! Learn how to tie on a hook, bait your hook, and safely cast your line into the water. We will try to catch and identify each fish before releasing them back into their home.
We’ll bring some poles and bait for folks to use – or bring your own. 🙂 Fishing license required for adults. Baits and poles will be provided on a first come, first serve basis. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This space is stroller friendly!
Family Nature Club is a free offering to our community designed for kids, teens, and their families. We facilitate outdoor, environmental-education based experiences for families to enjoy together.
Park at Ridge Run Park Central entrance in West Bend (address below) and meet at the Lakeside Shelter.
All ages are welcome!
Pre-registration is required by May 20 at 11:55 pm.

Community Rivers Program
Family Fishing Fun in Grafton
Spend the afternoon on the banks of the Milwaukee River at Veterans Memorial Park with a pole in your hand and hopefully a few bites on your line! Learn how to tie a hook on your line, bait your hook, and safely cast your line into the water. With the assistance of a Community Rivers Program team member, we will try to catch and identify each fish before releasing them back into their home; The Milwaukee River. Bait is provided. A limited number of fishing poles will be available or feel free to bring your own. Children 16 and under do not require a fishing license.
Registration is not required, but highly recommended. Registration is through the Grafton Parks and Recreation Department Activity Guide (page 24).
