Winter Solstice Celebration Adventure and Exploration Day at Riveredge

Celebrate the Winter Solstice at Riveredge! Awaken your curiosity, engage your body, and explore the beautifully restored Riveredge landscape through self-guided and educator-led activities. Winter Solstice Celebration: Adventure and Exploration Day at Riveredge is designed for folks of all ages to get active outdoors and discover a variety of ways to enjoy nature. Adventure awaits!

– 1 hour Guided Hikes 12pm, 1:30pm, 3pm
– Guided Sunset Hike at 4pm
– Crafting in the Coop 12-8pm | Bring a recycled, clean glass jar to make a luminary! Extra will be available. We will also be making bird feeders and coloring mindfulness mandalas.
– Bonfire 4:30-8pm | S’mores and healthy snacks will be provided
– Stargazing and Astronomy 6-8pm (conditions permitting) | Please do not use a flashlight or headlamp. Instead, we will let our eyes adjust to the darkness.

The Trails Aglow Luminaries will be lit for attendees to hike the self-guided Trails Aglow route (1.5 mi) beginning at 4:30pm. Family Nature Club will gather at 5pm for group hike along the luminary route!

All ages welcome! Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Free for all participants. Pre-register by December 19 at 11:59 pm or register at the program if spots are available.
