Little Explorers
Playgroup
Little Explorers is a playgroup open to families with children ages 2 to 5 years old. These naturalist guided experiences are designed with 45 minutes of structured play & exploration followed by 45 minutes of free play. Adults are encouraged to play along with their little explorers as well. Little siblings (0-1) are welcome to tag along too.

Ozaukee Washington Bird Coalition
Big Sit
The Noel J. Cutright Bird Club, in cooperation with the Lake Michigan Bird Observatory and OWBC, will host its annual “Big Sit!” at Forest Beach Migratory Preserve, five miles north of Port Washington. The count begins on the Bill Cowart Memorial Hawk Watch Platform on the northeast corner of the preserve. The Sit’s 17-foot circle is on the perfectly-sized hawk watch platform at Forest Beach Migratory Preserve. Since 2007, birders have recorded a total of 262 species at Forest Beach. Join for a half- hour, or just part of the day!

Milwaukee River Kayak Tour – Mequon/Thiensville
Join us for a relaxing 2 mile kayak trip starting in Thiensville to explore the hidden beauty of the Upper Milwaukee River! Kayak by Blue Heron’s searching for their next meal and look through the clear, tannic water to find fish swimming below. No experience? No problem! We’ll have you paddling like a pro in no time! We’ll provide kayaks, paddles, and life jackets. Don’t forget your sunscreen, hat, water, and enthusiasm. We will use single person kayaks.

Trails & Treats
Join us for an evening of tricks and treats for kids on the trails of Riveredge! Choose your own adventure along a 1.5 mile loop, as activity stations and fun will be scattered about the land. Visit educators in costume and dive into hands on experiences examining animal bones, learning leaves, and playing a batty game! Enjoy a crackling campfire with family and friends and share autumn and Halloween inspired stories. Cider and popcorn available for purchase. Costumes and flashlights are encouraged!

– Session 1: 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm
– Session 2: 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm (Walk-ins only accepted until 7pm)
– Session 3: 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Riveredge Permaculture Farm
Take a guided walk on Riveredge’s 4-acre permaculture farm! Learn about what happens on our veggie farm, ask the guild questions, and get inspired to apply some of the farm’s sustainable habits into your own gardening life.
All ages welcome! Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
