Parent / Grandparent Trek: Tree Climbing

Explore Riveredge at a new elevation! Our Tree Climbing programs are meant for youth and adults, age 7 and above, with little to no tree climbing skills. Ascend ropes and explore the world way above your feet. We make it safe and easy! All equipment is supplied; all you need is loose clothing (T-shirt and long pants recommended), closed toe shoes (hard soles recommended), and an adventurous spirit. The tree climbing programs often fill quickly. Our Tree Climbing programs are meant for youth and adults, age 7 and above, with little to no tree climbing skills. Ages 7+ | Children must be registered with an adult.

Come out for this hiking treasure hunt! You will use a GPS unit to find your way to several hidden caches along the Riveredge trails. It’s a great way to bond as a family and learn essential navigational skills. GPS units will be provided by your adventure educator. Participants should be able to hike 2 miles. Please bring a sample treasure to hide or trade.

Ages 8+ | Children must be registered with an adult.

Members*: $8 | Non-members: $10

June 20 @ 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm

Parent / Grandparent Trek: Tubing the Milwaukee River

After a quick tour of the Sturgeon Streamside Rearing Facility, we’ll hop on inner tubes and float down the Milwaukee River. Along the way, we’ll discover the diversity of living things that make their home in the river. Wear sturdy shoes and clothing that can get wet. Bring a lifejacket and an inner tube if you would like. Participants should be able to hike approximately 1 mile.

Ages 7+ | Children must be registered with an adult.

Members*: $12 | Non-members: $15

Join a naturalist and step into the Milwaukee River! We’ll explore this wonderful, watery world and seek out the creatures that call the river home. Bring your favorite wading shoes (old sneakers work best), a towel and a change of clothes. Expect to get wet! Feel free to pack a snack and stay for a picnic after the program.

Ages 5+ | Children must be registered with an adult.

Members climb together once a month from June – October, form a tight knit community, and have all kinds of fun outdoors while developing a new skill, improving their fitness, and building relationships with our natural world. No prior experience needed to join! Sign up your child for Youth Club (ages 7-17) or bring the whole family to this Family Club (ages 7+)!

Club membership includes: 5 club climbing days, a free pass for a family member to join during the kick off meeting and closing party, use of all equipment, and a Tree Climbing Club t-shirt.

Club Meeting Dates: June 11, 2023; July 9, 2023; August 13, 2023; September 10, 2023; and October 8, 2023.
