Nature Based Counseling with Youth and Family Project

We at Riveredge are excited to partner with Youth and Family Project to host their *free* Nature Based Counseling Sessions. Through these groups we aim to bring families together in nature to strengthen connections, improve communication, and support mental well-being. Activities include walking, nature crafts, and mindfulness practices.

5:30 pm – 6:15 pm: Youth Session for ages 8-12
6:30 pm – 7:15 pm: Family Session for all ages
These programs are free for everyone.

Free Family Nature Club End of the Year Hullabaloo!

Free Family Nature Club End of the Year Hullabaloo!

To the wonderful families of the Riveredge Family Nature Club – We are excited to invite you to our End of the Season Hullaballoo. We’ll host a Potluck style dinner (please bring something to share with others) at Riveredge in the Coop. Riveredge will provide fruit, veggies, and s’mores. We will potluck around 5pm and make s’mores at 8pm. We’ll have a variety of activities for the whole family to participate in, including: Fishing, Crafts, Games, Hikes, and a Campfire.

Additionally, thank you for making it a priority to attend Family Nature Club this school year. We are wrapping up our 2025/2026 Family Nature Club year and look forward to our 2026/2027 meetings! We can’t wait to see you there!

Join Riveredge’s conservation staff as we remove invasive mustards and reed canary grass. Removing these plants is one of the most important steps for restoring the land around us. Because of the expansive reach of these plants, much of the forest floor is covered in invasives instead of native plants.

If you’re looking for an opportunity to get outside and participate in local conservation efforts, you’ve come to the right place! Please dress for the elements and prepare to hike off trail. Tools and PPE provided.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to participate (students ages 16+ also welcome with supervising teacher – please call us to inquire)
Pre-registration is required by June 24th at 11:59pm as space is limited.
Extreme weather reschedule date: Tuesday, June 30th

Milwaukee Riverkeeper® Spring Cleanup

Milwaukee Riverkeeper® Spring Cleanup

Looking for a way to make a difference this upcoming Earth Day? We encourage you to participate in this communal effort to keep our local waterways free of trash and debris. Join the Milwaukee Riverkeeper® Spring Cleanup for a morning of cleaning up our beloved Milwaukee river. All pre-registrants will receive a FREE t-shirt!

While Milwaukee Riverkeeper® hosts cleanup sites throughout Southeastern Wisconsin, Riveredge will be hosting three of them in Ozaukee County: Fireman’s Park in Newburg, Peninsula Park in Saukville, and Lime Kiln Park in Grafton.

All ages welcome! Children should be accompanied by an adult.
All sites will be meeting at 9:00 am and working until around noon.

Join Riveredge’s conservation staff as we remove invasive buckthorn at Mayhew Woods. Buckthorn removal is one of the most important steps for restoring the land around us. Because of the expansive reach this plant has, the forest floor under the buckthorn is almost entirely bare. Removing buckthorn in the winter allows our team to spend less time managing the plant in the spring and summer, instead working to reintroduce native species in the newly cleared area!

If you’re looking for an opportunity to get outside and participate in local conservation efforts, you’ve come to the right place! Please dress for the elements and prepare to hike off trail. Tools and PPE provided.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to participate. (students ages 16+ also welcome with supervising teacher -please call us to inquire)
