Free Trails Day is an open community day where we waive the Riveredge trail fees entirely. Come hike for free with 10 miles of trails to choose from!
Meet a naturalist at the River Outpost (or West) parking lot for a casual walk on the trails through Riveredge's first & oldest prairie planting. Then visit the streamside rearing facility to learn about the Lake Sturgeon Rehabilitation Project.
Join longtime WSO birder and field trip leader Mark Korducki (duckibirding.com) as he highlights many of the recent additions to the state species list and discusses why we've seen an uptick in vagrants.
Nature Tots is an early childhood program designed for learners ages 2-5 years old, accompanied by an adult guardian. A Riveredge Naturalist will focus on outdoor exploration, literacy, physical development, nature intelligence, and social development.
The visitor center will be closed, but trails will remain open dawn to dusk.
The café is intended for people with all stages of memory loss and their caregivers. Fun nature related activities are planned for the group each month.
These naturalist guided experiences are designed with 45 minutes of structured play & exploration followed by 45 minutes of free play.
