Wisconsin is home to hundreds of species of edible and medicinal plants that have formed the way humans have used this land for thousands of years -- but is also called home by some of the most poisonous plants in the world, some of them are deceptively similar to delicious favorites. Take a hiking tour through some of Wisconsin's most amazing plants, and learn the basics of plant safety in our wild places.
Take a casual walk with a naturalist on the trails of Riveredge to explore a special aspect of nature and other things as well.
Photo Club meetings are friendly and informal, with a brief discussion of upcoming activities, a short program and the opportunity to share and discuss photos.
The visitor center will be closed, but trails will remain open dawn to dusk.
Led by Riveredge Educators and our own professional Angler Matt Smith, you'll learn about Wisconsin rules and regulations, safety skills, identification of common fish species, gear, knots, and of course, how to cast the perfect line!
